the softest skin..................
boy have I been in a talking and sharing mood lately, thank goodness I am a blogger! he he, just what a girl needs, is a great outlet, where she can talk and do and say anything she wants, whenever she wants. HEAVEN on earth is what I consider blogging.
I want to know if any of you have ever skin brushed before? If you have never heard of this before, stay tuned, I have lots to share.
Dry skin brushing (the link provided much more in depth information for all of you super nerds out there like me!) makes me so happy. Over the cold winter, I have to admit I started slacking a bit, it was too cold to get all naked and stand in front of the mirror and skin brush. (we don't use heat in our house) but now, I just can't help myself, I miss skin brushing so much!! I have started skin brushing in my bedroom before I head to the shower (why didn't I think of this before!!! because we can all get into habits and routines, and forget to alter them a bit somtimes) but now I am back on track!!
The results are immediate. My skin is so much happier now, it craves the brushing. I have a little routine I do, I learned it from watching Journey to Natural Beauty, (its in VHS, but hey, not all good things come in fancy and modern packages), but I really liked it! Elaina Love and Matt Samuelson are such happy and smiling people, sharing such a wonderful technique for all of us. Some of you may be familiar with David Wolfe, and he is on the beginning of the video giving these two a big hands up!!!
Why skin brush do you ask? If you have to ask that question, you should check out the link above for dry skin brushing. You will be amazed what a few minutes a day could do for you. And how much it can really simplify your life. One thing you should all know about me, is that I don't like a lot of maintenance, I like simple, very effective ways of maintaining health and beauty. I don't even use lotion anymore....don't need it. Once in a while I will soak in a bath with coconut oil, but other than that, no more buying all kinds of products. A simple dry skin brush, a few minutes a day, and a way I go. Even when I take a little break, my skin has really been conditioned to doing well with the skin brush.
I am really sensitive to perfumes, and fragrances, and all of those names of those ingrediants that I can't even say. It took me a long time to stop the resistance, I was so trained thinking that I needed all kinds of products for beauty. All I use in the shower is Dr. Bronner's soap, I do like the lavendar scent, however its a natural fragrance, and is really light. I can use that on my body, and sometimes will wash my hair with it.
I am always looking for less is more, because when we do get to start traveling a lot more, I don't want to have to travel with a lot of extra baggage.
One thing I learned from the video is that you can wash your hair with honey and rinse with lemon juice. And only need to wash with a shampoo once a week or so, and have the healthiest softest hair. That will be my next project, once I get back into the routine of my skin brushing. Baby steps, if I try to do too much at once, I get nowhere.
There are many skin brushes on the market, and from my experience as a former massage therapist I fell in love with the brushes from elemis, they are all natural cactus brushes, and are oh so heaven. Shone even enjoys skin brushing, he loves it!! That makes me so happy. After his latest flu session, I'm going to make sure he keeps up on it, it helps boost immunity!!! ;)
Thanks for letting me share, sometimes I get this overwhelming sensation to share something, and I appreciate you listening to me.
Also important to mention, which is why I also mention, skin brushing helps your skin look amazing in photographs! Healthy, happy skin, loves to be in pictures!!
