Deep End 2007

we really enjoy hanging out at the deep end at burning man. we have all been practicing hula!! so that we can do lots more hula on the playa. the goddesses in this video were amazing!!! they really inspired me to want to learn how to hula. what you see of me hula-hooping here was at that time all I had. i have learned a few more tricks since then, but am still working on adding to my bag of tricks before we step foot back onto the playa.

Often you may hear me talk about burning man, or the playa, burner, burners, this is simply talk for those of us who love to make the venture out to the playa every year over the Labor Day Weekend. There is an energy there that is difficult for me to explain. I often write about it, so I won't go too into detail about my experiences here, but what I would like to show you to is this link: Close to the Flame this fabulous art exhibit from burning man! For most of us, burning man is all about the art!!!

we love festivals POTD's

Todays POTD came from The How Weired Street Faire in SF, CA 2007, check the website for 2008 dates: we had tons of fun! While we were in the city I actually got kicked out of Raley's for being "naked", and I could hardly believe it. I was wearing what you see in the pictures below. In the left Alissa and I with Tory, from ,The Mythbusters, and then we had a little water fight, it was a hot day, and it felt so good. Nov 14 POTD came from Burning Man! in Reno, NV. I am pictured here with our phallis de playa! Yes those are 4 large penis that shoot flames from the top, this picture was on sunday evening the day before the event started. We were on the playa for 14 days this year. It was magical. We don't have most of our pictures up yet, we took 10,000 pictures this year, and it takes some time to go through.

and last but certainly not least, Lightning in a Bottle, down near Santa Barbara, CA: these goddesses were such a pleasure to watch, so talented, and so magical. This was by far the best event of 2007! We are gathering a troop this year to go down with us. The new dates have been posted, make sure you view the link, and learn more about this amazing green festival.

I would like to mention that all three of these events took as much care and consideration to be as green as possible. From the biofuel that is placed in the generators, to the recyclying units, the vendors, and the overall messages of community, and people. So much fun to be had, with such conscious intentions. You really can have the time of your life, and still be able to support this beautiful planet we all live on.

One of two art installations we are featuring this year for the playa. Rob is an amazing and talented artist, and last year we enjoyed his beloved perhaps. What a magical time it was to take pictures with that magnificent piece of art. And now this year, he brings us Anesthesia, an interactive art piece, that stands 40 feet high, and weighs over 20,000 lbs. And all powered by the same amount of energy it takes to run a blow dryer! Make sure you check out this amazing work at bohocrush, and lots more to be added when we get off the playa. WE have many photo shoots scheduled with this art this year. Naked goddesses oh my!
