I came across Green Eggs and Planet today, and stopped in for a look-see. I liked the happiness of this blog, and I really liked all of the great information that is presented. I like to share blogs like these, because wether it's something new, or you already enjoy this, it's always great to see and learn about ways to help the planet. It's pretty obvious now that our planet needs our help. The same reason why many times people get cancers, lack of health, circulation, and poor eating and living habits, is the same thing that is being transferred onto the planet. It's time we all stop the resistance, and instead just find small little ways everyday, that help us help the planet. We need her, don't you all agree. Without her, where would you live? Do you think there is a big group of people out there making sure to have a place to live for you, like most of your parents have. Please rethink that option. If left into your own hands, what would you do? What connection do you have to the environment, to the planet? Are you in love with her, are you in angst with her, do you take it out on her? Remember, she is here for you, but it takes a mutual understanding to flourish. And first and foremost she needs to take care of the plants and the animals that balance out the means and ends that we all need to exist. If you have some cool things to share with us all on ways that you stay connected and help out the planet, please share. Would love to learn. And I leave you with this, ever see the new series out, Planet Earth, if you need some inspiration, and time to reconnect and can't get back in nature, I strongly recommend watching. Sit back, eat some healthy organic fruit, drink lots of water, and think love, peace, and enjoy the world around you.
I am in love with treehugger. Ever heard of it before? I highly recommend you taking a look at it some time. It's an amazing gathering of (not too extreme in any one direction) information about ways to live in harmony with planet earth. Stories are shared from all over the world. There are always great how to's, and reports on amazing people doing amazing things. I love reading about happy, amazing things going on in this world. I must admit, I tend to stay clear of the not so amazing things going on. I am a creature who absorbs the energies that are around her. So I need to do my best to always be aware of my surroundings, whether in my real world, or in my cyber world.
I feel I have the right to step away from situations that are not creating love and happiness, and I understand that we all have our moments while we are transitioning through new thoughts and new beliefs. I do feel that at these moments its best to keep yourself in a happy and loving environment, so that you fill yourself and your needs with the support to help you through those awkard transitions. NO need to put your less than better self onto another person, we should be here to build each other up, to support, and love, and not to deconstruct.
And now back to the current broadcast. I may get off on tangents, but I promise they are always somewhat related, ;).
So this morning, I woke up, and in my inbox, is treehugger, I may not always get an opportunity to read, however I do have one hell of a folder system in my inbox, so I can always have something to read in the future. Well today, I took the time to send treehugger my love!
The article I read was from an interview with the owner of Patagonia. I missed the part 1 version, but I am happy and looking forward to going and finding it.
The article brings up a great point, something that I have learned over the past couple of years. And that is simply, that less is more. The idea, that overconsumerization is one of the downfalls of our global situation. Why is it that we need so many different kinds of shorts, pants, and outfits, that may be worn just once, and never again for years. If this is the case do you need 25 outfits like this? The interview brings up the idea that instead of having one pair of shorts for biking, one for swimming, one for climbing, etc, that paying for one pair of great quality, that lasts a long time, and that is preferably organic or recycled materials.....should be all that is needed. Think about all the less waste that this idea brings up.
The article left me all warm and fuzzy. I have learned that you don't need a whole lot, even if you are in a situation like myself, who is in pictures a lot, in public a lot, and who is working with lots of people, and has lots of interactivity. I perform in a burlesque troupe, I work with many of our Crush Dolls, and I have done so in the last year without ever buying a new pair of shoes, jeans, etc. In fact, besides a couple of warm and sustainable necessities I got from Melting Pot last year for burning man, have not spent a penny on new clothes. And it makes me so happy. I'm sure its probably a big help that I prefer to be naked in most of my pictures, however, even when out in the world, I find that what I have is simply perfect. And that if I do need things, that making our own costumes, ( a mask for burning man, a fetish robot, a princess tutu....) are all things that I will be looking forward to wearing this year , and probably the next couple, at burning man, or in a photo shoot, or out to an event. Its much for fun to get multiple uses out of things, than just a one time ordeal.
In the future, when I do have the opportunity to have more access to funds, I will not be making my way back to the mall, or shopping. That is an era that I am happy to break away from. I look forward to discovering the simple, and earth friendly materials and wearables, that will 1. work well with my skin, and my body chemistry, and 2. make me feel so alive because that kind of clothing is made with so much love, that it sends energy right to you!
A big thanks for treehugger, who by the way (are burners). Thank you for making the start of my day feel so loved.
Update: Fox and I are thinking a like, without even realizing it we both have posted this picture, I think you should check out his posting on his Online Magazine Ultrafeel.tv, there is way more information to go with the picture, and besides, if you havn't checked out his online magazine yet, I highly recommend you stop by.
I welcome you to come join my stumble upon account
another pic from my stumbleupon account. I just love the way pictures transcend you into another world, you really realize how small you are in this world, and how much life and terrain is out there, so far away, yet to somebody it is so real.
